Does anyone know of possible causes and treatment for low blood pressure? Particularly for someone who is quite healthy, i.e. no heart diseases or other physical problems.
Thanks
Sabrina

how low is your blood pressure? i think low blood pressure by itself is generally not dangerous, unless it drops so low as to be a state of shock. when i was discharged from the hospital last week, my blood pressure was in the 80s (don't remember the diastolic number), and they were unfazed and had no problem with letting me leave. does your blood pressure drop when you go from lying down or sitting to standing? i would just be careful to stand up slowly so as to prevent lightheadedness and faiting. good luck! cb

People who are in good physical shape tend to have lower blood pressure, athletes are known for low BP. Some people just naturally have low BP, myself amongst them. It's not something that usually needs to be treated, unless it's a change from your baseline.
Medications can cause lowered BP, such as MAOIs and TCAs. Mostly, though, it's just an anomaly, like having a widow's peak, or having a long big toe. Just normal for some.
