scars

I heard something a while back on another online forum about some sort of treatment that you can get to reduce the appearance of scars. It is a prescription one, apparantly (I think they fund it for peoples who have stopped SI for a while).

Does anyone know anything about this?
Do you just ask your GP?
Does it work good?

I have used Mederma, available at the drugstore, for my scars from foot surgery. It's expensive ($35 for a small tube), but a little goes a long way, and if you use it as directed, it makes a remarkable difference. It used to be dispensed by doctors but is now available to the public.

Thanks PC. I think I'll go to my GP because if I can get it on prescription then it is a whole lot cheaper. I think I will get up the courage to go ask though. haven't SI'd in two years now, and I really don't think I'll ever do it again. They used to try to make tidy scars, but then I guess they just figured that there was no point as they'd only see me next week and have to do it again.

Thanks PC.
