Today I went to my gym for the second time. It's called Curves. Have you heard of it? They have 16 exercise stations set up in a circle. You spend 30 seconds at each station, and you go around the circle 3 times. It takes about a half an hour to do this. Then you stretch for about 10 minutes. It's an all female gym, and it's not a competitive atmosphere. I like that. It's mellow. There are no mirrors, so you don't have to see any bulges you don't want to see. It's all very casual. Their motto, is "No make-up, No men, No mirrors." They suggest going 3 times a week which I'm going to do. It's a pretty good work-out. My muscles were sore the first time I did it. It's also inexpensive, and I can see why. Low overhead, and they only have one lady working there at a time. I'm enjoying it. It's fun.

Cass, I just popped onto this message board and saw your posting that you joined a Gym. I am a fitness instructor at a gym and can tell you that you made the one of the best discisions of your life. No kidding. I joined one 15 years ago, and had never worked out...never. I started to really like the results, and from that I started running, and then being certified in step and power yoga. The more muscle you get by working out, the faster your metabolism becomes and you will lose weight, just like a ball rolling downhill. I'm really proud to read that you have taken the miracle step. Good job!!!!

Wow! Thanks, stressed. I appreciate your support, and I'm inspired by your story! What a miraculous change occured in your life. I haven't worked out for many, many years. I was trying to exercise at home and doing a little, but I needed more. The music and the energy of other people at the gym really helps motivate me to do it.
Maybe someday I'll be as fit as your are. Lately I feel that anything is possible.
This is the end of the thread.
