I just had surgery on july 5th and Im fine now but I was wondering if anyone knows how long a person has to wait after surgery before getting a massage and also what massage is best...I had surgery on my head but I have 3 scars one on my head, neck, and stomach...the stitches are out though and all I really want massaged is my neck and shoulders..but I didnt know how long i should wait......any ideas? Is there any special massage that is good to have after a surgery?
Thanks.

Panda, I ruptured my achilles tendon 5 years ago and had it surgically repaired. Once I got my staples out, my physical therapist immediately began massage. This was about 10 days after surgery. Massage was encouraged because it helps break up any internal scar tissue which may form.
