I posted this before but maybe under the wrong subject and under the wrong forum. Trying here...
I just started Topamax for chronic Migraine/ tension headaches. I have muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders too. I have been on Flexerill, Baclofen, Daypro, Fiorinal, Toradol and Toradol shots, Nortiptaline... and the list goes on for the last 5 months. I have started getting tingling in my hands and feet as well as this terrible itchy restless feeling like I can’t sit still. I read about " the stupids" and yep I known that feeling! Everyone at work has noticed. I've also had dizzy spells. I’m only taking 50mg Topamax at night and Allegra for my allergies 2 times a day and I've had 3 migraines since starting the Topamax 5 weeks ago. None of the other meds. were working and I’m still in constant pain. I’m considering quitting all these meds. all together! OK, getting to the point. I don’t honestly know what to do. Nothing is working! Any ideas? My husband says just buck up and take it and it’ll heal itself eventually...

Hi, Lori. I get migraines too. It sure sounds like a medication problem to me! I had been on Paxil and it was an interminable headache from the first day. I would work closely with my p-doc on the medications until you get to a safe, effective medication. For my migraines I have been on
Fiorinal
Caffergot (in the olden days)
Imitrex (self injecting and oral)
HRT patchesand now I take Maxalt if I get one. I read an article in Vogue of all places about using those Botox injections to treat migraine!!! Doesn't that sound like the scariest thing in the world??
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
This is the end of the thread.
