Just came back from the doctor after a miserable weekend with a sore throat, fever chills, the works. Turns out I have strep throat.
I was given the option of 10 days of antibiotics taken in pill form or one shot of penecillin. I took the shot. I wonder if anyone knows here if one form of treatment is more effective than the other?
I already feel a million times better since the shot but think that must just be sort of a placebo effect. Doc said I would begin to feel better in 2 days.
Any thoughts? I just hate the pill thing.

fwiw, I've never had a penicillin shot, but when I've taken antibiotics, the ones that work start right away--I usually start to feel better within a day or less. Not completely better, but enough to make a real difference.
This is the end of the thread.
