Hey everyone, I used to take Dexedrine 15mg IR for ADHD. I was on adderall but that wasnt as effective. Well, this was about a month ago, i was up cramming for exams, and took a double dose of Dexedrine to stay up (which was 30 mg, which is still fairly low/ or moderate)
It did help, with studying and i was well ready. After it wore off, i took only 1 tablet of 15mg to finish the studying. Finally i was finished with studying! about the time the dexedrine wore off, about 4 hours later, i started having really abnormal sense of tingling going throught my legs and especially my thighs.
It also moved throught the rest of my body. After that my heart just exploded, and i felt my veins were full of adrenaline. I sat down and tried to remain calm, trying to figure out what the heck was happening. THne it got worse, my hands with numb, and also my stomache, and was breathing ULTRA fast, basically hypervein
I kept having surges of confusing and disoriention. I finally called 911, and i was given a major sedative, and it had to be admistered twice to cause any effect! I told the doctors what i did, and they greatly disproved of it. I told my pdoc i wanted off the med. IMMediatly before he even sat down. He put me on Wellbutrin.
I really don't know why this happened, the doctors said i had a bad reaction. But that dose was nothing near an overdose, usally thats about 100mg. I researched on seizures and alot of the symptoms were occupied during this so called attack. Does anyone know if this is true? any experienced individuels? well i just want maybe a theory or something. Thanks

In reply to seizure from amphetamine? possible?, posted by 1980Monroe on April 2, 2004, at 21:31:13
Years ago when I was younger and stupider I did 8 hits of speed on purpose to get a big buzz going and had a seizure...I was smoking a cig and started shaking....was a mess like a mega panic attack....but worse...so it may have been a seizure or a hyoertensive crisis...or you came close to a stoke..I would ask your doc EXACTLY what that "bad reaction was" have him label it...
This is the end of the thread.
