> The blame for the overuse of the antibiotics can be put on the doctor and the patient. Dozens of patients would come to ER for a "shot" because I have this "cold".......we had one doctor who always obliged.......he said it made them "feel" better and they wouldn't come back. We also ingest antibiotics every time we eat pork, beef, chicken, lamb, etc. It is standard practice to dose our food sources with tons of medicine. I know because I used to raise feeder steers. I didn't use antibiotics but saw the huge displays at the feedstore.(for menopausal women, cattle are dosed with huges amounts of hormones, as are chickens....) There are antibiotics in the animal's food as well.......SO, the moral of this thread is.......a shot won't cure a cold, it won't cure a viral infection, it won't cure the sniffles but it will overload your system so that the next time you really need the meds, they just might not work! And it could be your hand that has to be partially removed....think about it folks! Campaign again the overuse of meds in YOUR food supply and don't ask for penicillin every time you blow your nose!
This is the end of the thread.
