> in retrospect, I do think Squiggles was displacing his/her feelings over the loss, to the messenger of the information - Dr. Bob - an inclination I myself had. ... Somehow, through displacing my own feelings of mortality and the loss of this real person into the linguistic realm of my own therapy, I have been able to work through it to be able to move on and know that I must keep struggling.

Welcome, and thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad you've been able to work though this.

Losses do evoke a variety of feelings. Some may be displaced onto me, but I wouldn't assume all feelings about me are displacements, either...

**Ahhhh yes, how I love to hate Bob.
He's not real. He has no emotions. He's some sort of inhuman robot that runs these boards.....
But then, I think to myself, mebbe he's OK?
Mebbe he DOES get hurt.
Damned if I know.
Bob, I don't think anybody CAN have true feelings about you. You never show enough of yourself for anyone to HAVE any actual true feelings. Noone knows who Bob is. Your a figment. Not real.
