Con't Songs of Faith

Posted by Shes_InItForTheMoney on September 15, 2011, at 13:13:24

I thought I would bring this thread down here as it is SUCH a good one! The song that was a catalyst in my becoming a Christian was "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." by U2. One lyric in particular awe-strikes me, gives me Hope as I get older. I think this is what it is all about, not differences, but by every human being of all Faith's meeting at the end of our lives on this planet.

"I believe in the Kingdom Come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
But yes I'm still running"

My favourite version of this song is the following, which I had on non-stop the day evening my loving father had major open heart surgery. As I was driving home listening to this song, this version, I felt a presence that I wasn't alone.

You can watch the video for this version here:

You know, I've listened to that song so many times, yet never really heard the lyrics. Thank you.

So many of my favorite songs of faith are old Mormon hymns or Sunday School songs from my youth.

But lately I've found the Soweto Gospel Choir and have been greatly enjoying their music. Hard not to smile when I play this one on my iPod.

Oh VERY nice, indeed! There is a version of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with the Harlem Gospel Choir in the forefront on Youtube. There is also a really moving live version of this song from Milan, in 2005, just soooooo sweet and powerful, it gives me goosebumps. lol.

Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
