I am a christian who has really been struggling with my faith -hope in particular. Does anyone know any good, inspirational books?

I actually came here to post something about the ambiguity of God's mercy, as illustrated here

convincing us more of God's dark splendour than his kindness and mercy.
However I did enjoy Thomas Moore's "Care for the Soul".
If I recall correctly, he had been a monk and then became a psychotherapist.
