It is no wonder...

...why I don't want any part of religion. Sheesh, what a mess. I look at all this that goes on from the outside and I feel I am in the right place. No disrespect to any persons of religious faith.

"Meet the new boss, just the same as the old boss." Was Pete Townsend channeling Martin Luther when he wrote those lines?

We're cursed to be living in interesting times. We have people turning to their faiths and their churches with greater zeal, while others turn away from their church or all churches and seek.

Perhaps society is preparing for another Martin Luther ... but within a global context, it would be difficult to imagine what that might mean.

What really gets me is the hypocracy of some beings of the flesh that pass judgement upon others as to the validity of their faith, or lack of, and the fate of their afterlife. I thought that was up to the man with the keys to the gate, St. Peter, and the G-man himself. It seems totally hypocratic to try to walk in those shoes.

On another note, I picture the Gates of Heaven like a forein embassy with crowds of people screaming through the fence and climbing the bars seeking exile into an unknown realm.

Pardon me for prosteletyzing, quite unbecoming as it is, but that's part of why I'm a Quaker.

Please be supportive, on this board, of religious faith.

But please don't take this personally, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please first see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob
