So, what religion of people did kill Christ ...

Posted by muffled on August 29, 2006, at 21:13:33

anyways????
What group of people killed that kid in town?
What religion was that guy who beat the toddler to death?
People been killing and torturing and maiming people since the dawn of time.
Who the hell cares who killed Jesus anyways?
The point is He CAME BACK.
And He's here with us today.
And I GLAD he got killed cuz thats what was SUPPOSED to happen.
He knew it. He was mostly ok with it.
I am not a toattally sick disgusting human being cuz of Jesus.
I have hope cuz of Him.
So I don't f*cking care WHO killed Him.
Muffled

IMHO he's not dead

Maybe, maybe not.

Anyway, I don't think this is a venue appropriate to the discussion of such things. Personally, I don't like being told what to think when it comes to issues of religion. This is what this statement does for me. I don't mean this to be an attack upon you or your beliefs.

I agree with you. But I would extend it beyond theology and just say I don't like being told what to think. Period.

But, muffled, I'm glad for you that you have your faith.

Muffled is going through a hard time. SLS is having his struggles. So are others.

But we don't need to do this to one another. We don't.

So let's not. At least let's try not to.

Yeah, I never understood that argument, that thinking Jews killed Christ creates anti-Semitism. I can't imagine anybody thinks about the death of Christ like, dang, if only Christ had lived to a ripe old age, things would be so much better. I'd think Christians would be almost grateful to anyone who contributed to the event that launched their faith.

For hundreds of years people used that as an excuse for pogroms, smashing, hurting others.

Every year around Easter the preachers would get the throngs riled up.

What you said is logical, but logic doesn't apply for all things...

Many people get a lot of solice in religion. That can never be bad.

Sometimes I'm envious.

I draw comfort from Mel Gibson's DUI sermon and the knowledge that he "owns Malibu". He's the king.

The person or persons that killed christ are technically the ones that nailed him to the cross, and they were most likely roman.

So, not to upset any romans, I will just leave it at that.

Maybe He died of a broken heart

Please the *faith board*

and Please don't accuse the entire world of killing Christ :O
I know I'm not the only one who feels incredibly frustrated, and angry,(probably because of the civility guidelines :~{ when hit with statements such as some of the above.

Ah Bobby..
If I'd never known you before, you would have won me over with that subject heading - whether you are being facetious or not.

I love Jesus,
I really really do.

I think he was the coolest.
Whether he was a symbol or embodied (don't have an opinion on that, and it matters not a whit about how I feel about "him" though I know others feel the human aspect is crucially important.

It's just 99% of religion I despise.

Why it's such a source of anger?
Because we are so easily made angry?
Because we are so angry already?
Or because we are so stupid?

Now I have to rephrase that. I've called us all stupid.
No offence meant, it's nothing personal, we can't help it, and most of us are very nice, what would you expect anyway, who am I to talk, and so on.

I guess everyone played their roles perfectly, regardless of which parts they were assigned. How can anyone find fault with any of the players cast in the devine script?

Just one perspective.
