Islamic Center bombed

Posted by gardenergirl on December 22, 2005, at 22:24:03

Someone left a package with a bomb in it. It's shocking and terribly upsetting for this to happen in a place of worship. I drive by the center several times per week. My thoughts and prayers are with those who worship there.

And my prayers are with whomever did this deed, hoping that someday they will find peace and tolerance in their heart.

I saw this in the news, too. I also hope for peace and tolerance, with a heavy heart. It just doesn't seem like it's possible, does it?

The next day, people of all faiths gathered together in support and held a vigil. That was sweet. I wish it happened out of love and caring and not out of hate.

Similar stuff's happened here, a couple of things, a mosque might have been torched, or maybe they got the building next door, and then the riots. It's reassuring that the instincts of ordinary people are so humane (by comparison with those of our leaders).
