Having Faith, do have to be FULL of it?

Posted by rjlockhart98 on July 18, 2005, at 22:24:25

I am really not making a request but im having a hard time with my thoughts disturbing me.

You know i've heard you can only just have a "little amount" of faith and it will happen. I dont agree with that. That's making degree's of faith, "well i have a little faith i will be healed". I have general faith sometimes, but sometimes it fades, when i dont see anyhting happening. I know that is what faith is seeing what is impossible at times.

Each day i try to have faith that i will be healed. I have some good days, and somedays when i feel the lord is staying in "still" mode for long periods of time.

Everynight i have faith,

has anyone been healed by the lord?

Yes, I've been healed by God.

I was severely bulimic (eating disorder) from the age of 18 'til I was 39... despite numerous counselors, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, every antidepressant on the market (maybe 2-3 I didn't try), and going to inpatient treatment centers 5 times (30 days each). Oh - and years in 12-step programs.

None of that made an impact.

God healed me, though - 5 years ago.

Not a temptation since.

He also lifted my life-long depression... no longer on antidepressants.

Shalom, Dena

Sometimes it may take years for us to be healed. When we are, I believe God intends for us to use that healing to help others.

Sometimes we aren't healed until we reach the next life, but it will come.

Healing (or answer to any other prayer) is rarely what we ask for and never what we think it should be.

I belive alot to the lord.

I have many insecurities that draw me near to him for security.

I cannot tell you how many times i have seen things happen, god has given me 1 major sign when i asked, it was a small still peaceful voice that was hardly noticable, to go lay in my bed. That lightnight was so bright for a slice of a second the whole room was pure white, after there where 3 thunder strikes that sounded like "knocking" sounds against the walls, the windows raddled i thought they shattered. It was shocking, i layed there for 3 minuites just staring of what just happened.

When my mom refuses to give my medication during a panic attack, or when i need. This voice says "i will lead a path", i got it right in time before she came. But i belive God doesnt want us really on medication, im sure he will allow it if you choose it, but he rathers you to come to him. But just the feeling that he would take care of me against my mom is kathy bates in "misery", shows how he is truly love, what he thinks is best during that situation. I thanked him at least 15 times.

There is times when he has NOT awnsered yes. But when i realize it, it is view of the best for the situation. I have gotten angry, it didnt do anything, WHY!

I know that God is real, but i just, i have to have the faith of what he knows best. Besides, he designed this whole universe.

I just again thought i would share a message.

I hope it will maybe help some insight to some of those. But i am still struggling after seeing all of it, it still is confusing at times.

Trust God.

I don't know Matt... I sometimes ask this same question.

Jesus said it only takes faith as small as a mustard seed and yet I know I have at least that much, but still sometimes I don't see (in the physical realm) my prayers always answered either.

I have an autistic son. He is 10 years old, his speech is minimal- around the age of a 2 year old, he is still in diapers, I still bathe him, brush his teeth, dress him, etc..

I pray every single day for God to supernaturally heal him. I have no doubt God is able to do that if He chose to. So sometimes I think where true faith comes in is when we ask for things (like healing) and even though we don't see God answer our specific request, we continue to trust Him and have faith that He is good despite us not seeing a miracle.

I think it takes an even greater faith to believe when we don't see His miraculous hand at work, than it does for Him to speak and work a miracle.

Regardless, He is the God of both. He's the God of the miracle and the God that sustains us when He doesn't work a miracle.

It takes faith to believe in both. :)

Thanks, Spriggy.

I needed to read/hear/own that today!
