Does anyone have any reports of "actual", exact symptoms of demon possession, that have been recent in the church.
Im not talking about some maniac running around, sreaming he's possessed, no, im talking as in biblical terms....
I dont think all forms of demons are the way we percieve them as, monsterous, destructive, full of hate. I belive that they can manifest themselves as fake- good, and put on an act to help people in a way to get them away from God, such as cults.
I dont know, if your confused, fine, i just confused myself also.
Anyways, lets get some posts going.
God Bless
Matt

I recently lived in a 3rd world country and worked with missionaries who minister to tribal groups. These are level-headed conservative Christians, but they have over the years seen many instances of demon-possession. My missionary friends believe demons manifest themselves more frequently among primitive peoples. They appear very much as they did in New Testament times. And yes, they have had sessions where they had to cast demons out of people and have been successful. Most of the mainline Protestant denominations have not prepared their ministers and missionaries to deal with this, but seminaries are now beginning to study this more closely because of the obvious need. It seems many missionaries came across demon-possession unexpectedly and were not prepared with how to deal with it. In more civilized societies, demon possession manifests differently (*possibly* in some cases of mental illness). My information comes from statements made to me by a Southern Baptist pastor and by World Team missionaries, not from first-hand knowledge. There are books that deal with the subject.

Will the demon have a name, or just be labled "a demon"
Will they talk back, or do they just mumble jumble nad roar like an animal.
I'm not exactly educated in biblical details, i do know there were many inside a man in one case.

I have heard of instances where they did have names and I've also been told that they speak. I'll try to find the names of some books I've read and post them here. Please note that I do not have any first hand experience with this.

Matt,
This guy was very interesting. I used to listen to him all the time on Art Bell's radio program. Anyway, his first hand accounts of exorcism are quite harrowing

Very interesting read. I'm not a Catholic, but I would have liked to have him on my side. Think I'll read more on his life---he sounds like the personification of good vs evil. Thanks again Honeychurch.

He apparently died under suspicious circumstances (according to the conspiracy groups). His verbal accounts of exorcisms kept me up MANY nights.
This is the end of the thread.
