<<could someone tell me a biblical answer whether masterbation is wrong as long as you are not thinking lustfull thoughts and you only think of you husband/wife. I am very concerned about this matter.
>>When a person is masterbating aren't they only thinking of themselves? At what point does it become an addiction? Here is one reference from the Bible. http://scriptures.lds.org/rom/1/24-32#24
Sexual addictions will drive you. In life do you want to be the driver or a vehicle?
Here is an opinion that I have trusted since my youth: (I planted these seeds of faith when I was a child and they have proven to be fruitful, safe, secure). Spencer W. Kimball, Faith Precedes the Miracle, p.174 "The early apostles and prophets mention numerous sins that were reprehensible to them. Many of them were sexual sins -- adultery, being without natural affection, lustfulness, infidelity, incontinence, filthy communications, impurity, inordinate affection, fornication. They included all sexual relations outside of marriage -- petting, sex perversion, masturbation, and preoccupation with sex in one's thoughts and talking. Included are every hidden and secret sin and all unholy and impure thoughts and practices."
....
The problem with interfering with natural law is that it offends a God who will not be mocked in the latter days. http://scriptures.lds.org/2_chr/36/16#16If marriage were re-defined, how would you interpret the quote by Spencer W. Kimbol?
How important is it to have faith? Anything that takes the place of God as center is wrong and distances us from His presence and influence.
What are the most important things in your life? Do you desire faith? Faith is grown from seeds of truth. It takes faith to turn a life around as taught by Spencer W. Kimbol. You identify truth by testing it. Only by knowing truth, can we free ourselves from error.
http://scriptures.lds.org/alma/32/32-43#32http://scriptures.lds.org/query?words=not+be+mocked
God has obviously been mocked a lot in the past, but the scary thing is we are in the latter days, a time when the mocking will soon be over.
Please choose wisely.People of my faith believe masterbation and other sexual deviation is wrong. Even so, we condemn the sin, not the person.

If this is something you and your spouse have discussed and you are both comfortable with, whether used in your intimacy as rewards, incentives, or aids, I can see no problem with it. God trusts man and woman within the legal bonds of marriage to discover and handle these things appropriately and discretely.

http://scriptures.lds.org/query?words=Ephesians+5%3A33&search.x=30&search.y=9If you are doing it in secret, or if you are a youth or single, it is a different situation. Hopefully I have presented both sides in my two responses.

masterbation is a quick fix for those who are impatient for foreplay.

This seems to be an important message for females and males alike. Sin is easy to do and hard to deal with, we all do it; even the people you think are perfect. The only perfect human was Jesus Christ; he was the only human that never sinned. I am hoping to gently shed some light on the discussion of masturbation. I definitely am not trying to offend or lead you away from Jesus, for he will forgive any sin anyone may have if they truly are sorry for doing it and repent, meaning- just say no to it and never do it again, but if they accidentally do, pray by the scripture: Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus..
First I will start with the definition:
Look it up in the Websters Dictionary, Masturbation is erotic stimulation of the genitals organs commonly resulting in orgasm and achieved by manual or other bodily contact exclusive of sexual intercourse, by instrumental manipulation, occas. by sexual fantasies, or by various combinations of these agenciesLook it up in the Websters Dictionary, Sex is defined as either of two divisions of organisms distinguished respectively as male or female
FURTHER: Sexually motivated phenomena distinguish males and females
FURTHER: To increase the sexual appeal of
FURTHER: To arise the sexual desires ofWith such definitions, it is clearing stated either biblically or worldly what masturbation isits sex with a person or by yourself, sex is defined as organism which is the release you get when youyou guessed it, masturbate.
But with having the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit is in you, he should have already told you it was wrong, you just have a feeling. God places it in our hearts to know right from wrong at birth. If you deny it, he will send someone your way to point it out and even more if you pray about it.
Now we are dealing with sexual sinbecause that is what masturbation is.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
Galatians 5:19
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery. (Dishonesty, sin, immorality, wickedness)As a Christian, we deny ourselves, we deny the flesh, we carry our cross, and this life we live, is to be lived for God and whatever purpose he put us here for.
I hope this helps for those really willing to listen. I pray that God opens your hearts and minds to accept it, I pray for strength and courage for you to follow his commandments and laws. I pray you repent of your sins and desire strongly to follow after him. In Jesus Name, Amen. Thank you for your time and if you need help, go to the bible, call a church for prayer and yes, pray to Jesus, he is our legal representative to God.

Questions about masturbation in the faith section puzzle me but I guess the person asking was looking for a biblical answer. The quick answer from the Lord himself was you shouldn't spill your seed wastefully and that it was unclean. Directions about what to do in the event it happened seem to point more to hygenic issues than morality. The moral aspect comes from the Lord telling men not to do it and men not listening.

tunguska,
You wrote,[...a biblical answer. The..answer from..was...more to hygenic issues...telling..not listening...]
I am unsure as to if you are referring to a bible verse. If so, could you post that verse here? If you could, then I could have the opportunity to see what the verse says and then respond accordingly.

I am unsure as to the grammatical structure of your post here as to if one could pray to the Father, or some other God, instead of praying to Jesus as God's legal representative or not. If you could clarify this for me, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.

I was brought up as a believer, and no one ever talked about masturbation being wrong. I think God wants us to use our common sense......I know about the "spilling seed thing."
BUt, I am a woman. I was married for 31 years to an abuser, and then got the courage to divorce him. I then met with a kind of abuse I'd never heard of (digressing here); SPIRITUAL abuse; my church of 31 years voted me out of membership, with my name up on a big screen, followed by the words: "Conduct Unbecoming A Child of God."
www.churchabusepoetrytherapy.com (faith-based poems of anguish, healing hope and comfort came pouring from my wounded soul).
What I went through was horrific.
I think a lot of christians make things more confusing by questioning so much, which should be common sense.
I have remained celibate for all of the years I have been alone. It isn't easy, because after having sex for 31 years....well.....I am a very passionate person. Not being touched, living alone, etc.....is excruciating.
Babies die without human touch; adults just suffer.....therefore....if I need to touch myself (anywhere), common sense tells me that is why I was given hands......(kind of tongue-in-cheek)...sheesh.
This is the end of the thread.
