Wow - we had such a burst of activity here for a while & now - silence. I wonder... did I chase everyone off?
I hope not.

Don't feel bad Dena, I was thinking the same thing!
As I was going down the lists of posts, the words "wicked witch of the west " came to mind for me. So - I guess it's easy to take it personally. It is a holiday weekend coming up and perhaps that is some of it.
I do think the exchanges between us were a bit fevered and that you and I( with a nudge from lil'jimi ) re-created a healthy exchange. No easy feat in light of our differences.
When we were admonished by Dr. Bob, it felt like he missed that - that we created civility between us and that should be congratulated not picked at. Ah well, there's the wicked witch, wanting to make Dr. Bob wrong again.
I do think, perhaps, my less then gentle side got rustled a bit. From what I gather from Dr. Bob's post, I must not let that side give voice here. I do feel that strong differing opinions can be expressed in a civilized way. I guess I haven't mastered the art.
I know that you and I have mended fences. I'm grateful we were both eager and intelligent enough to do that. Thanks for posting your thoughts and giving me a place to express mine more fully.
Take good care Dena, dear heart.
May your gods smile on you,
Hab

Hi Habby!
So, in spite of our various differences, it would seem that perhaps we share an itty-bitty paranoia-complex that makes us think we're capable of destroying the entire PBF board!
At least I wasn't alone in my twisted thinking!
Yes, I agree, we should be commended for resolving our misunderstandings in such a mature & civil fashion! I'm so proud of us!
I haven't yet mastered the art of voicing strong opinions with tact & sensitivity - my husband tells me that I have the "gift of blurt". Alas. I'm willing to learn. Perhaps I'm learning.
I'm grateful to you for your willingness to agree to disagree. I think, all things considered, you handled the whole thing as well as anyone could have. I'm glad we're at peace.
May your day be filled with peace & purpose!
Shalom, Dena

hi Habby and Dena!
... intrigued ? hmmm...
haven't meant to keep anyone in suspense ... ... especially since nothing i can have to offer can be any kind of a big deal ...But, bless dr. bob, we ARE in a special place here ... for better or ... ... better, in my not-unreasonable-to-be-debated opinion ...
... in the sense of being able to stand in a public place and unlimitedly vent verbally, no we do not have that kind of vitally important constitutionally protected freedom of speech here ... ... we have the benefit of something less and, at the same time, something greater ... perhaps
... freed, as we are here in pBabble city, from uncivility ...so, anyway, i want to suggest we discuss
"What are the Civil-ized Limits on Statements of Faith ?"
... here
... when we have to take into account other's feelings and possible (religious) sensitivities ...
... and i credit us as a good team for this discussion here in Faith, because we each belong to such distinct beliefs ... as we have recently explored ...
... but of course, i would welcome one and all to offer their contributions... so what do you think?
