Has this issue been addressed?

Dr Bob, I surmise that you are a Christian.

I presume that this affects your objectivity regarding proselytisation.

How do you deal with this? How can you be sure that you're not harder on, say, a muslim for sharing his/her spiritual experiences, than you would be on a Christian? Or is this an issue for you at all?

You've asked this question a couple of times, Medusa, if I'm not mistaken. So are you saying you detect a Christian bias in Dr. Bob's actions?

I assure you, Dr. Bob is equally in disfavor among Christians. :) Check the admin archives and you'll see what I mean.

Dr. Bob's position, as I understand it, is that relating your own experiences is just fine. Putting down other's beliefs either directly or indirectly is against the site's civility rules. And proselytizing is also frowned on under site rules. But Dr. Bob sees a difference between proselytizing and relating your own experiences, and say, the way your beliefs have had an impact on your own life.

I hope this helps, but if not, review the last year or so of Admin board archives, as well as the links provided in the paragraphs at the top of the page. I think between the two, you will find a lot of clarity on Dr. Bob's positions.

(And I suspect that Dr. Bob feels his own views on faith are irrelevant to his administration of this board, and I would have to agree with that based on my experience. After a year on the board now, I have no earthly idea which if any religion he practices.)

I agree with this. I also tend to see faith as something personal and private that not everyone would want to discuss in their social, public or professional roles.

Thanks Dinah + Mist (nm)
