I've actually been pretty proud of myself lately. That's not typical!
1. Went out bowling with some old friends I hadnt seen since I was in school last night.
2. Took a friend to the ER Thurs and to get her car on Fri (the reason I'm proud of myself isnt because id usually tell someone no - i wouldnt - id just usually not be involved enough to know they were sick or be asked. and i volunteered).
3. Left a very difficult message for my therapist and talked to her about it the next day.
4. Got a new haircut about 2 weeks ago that I like and it makes me look closer to my age (which is a good thing).
5. Stayed fairly sane while at my familys house for the holidays and didnt let them get to me too much
6. Got a gym membership on Tues - I havent been yet, but I will.
7. I've eaten at least one fruit every day since new years - that was my resolution. I had a hard time getting that into my diet.
8. Lost a little bit of weight, which makes me feel better about myself.
9. Turned in 3 job applications for "real" jobs
10. Went and got some new books at the library

I felt the same way when I became agoraphobic, but, we need to acknowledge our accomplishments in overcoming the fears, whether they be big or small. And, getting in your car, going to your daughter's office and meeting her colleagues and the lawyers in the office is certainly no small feat when a person is dealing with anxiety and fears. I think you should be giving yourself a big pat on the back, and reminding yourself the next time you think you can't go somewhere of what you were able to do. It's good, Phillipa. Anyone who has struggled with anxiety and agoraphobia will tell it is a step in the right direction and something to be proud of.
Be good to yourself.
