He is growing into the sweetest, most thoughtful, young man.
He seems to be at that stage where self absorption is giving way to concern about others. Not about global concerns, but in small day to day interactions.
It is really quite touching to see.

I loved reading your post Dinah because at each stage of my son's life, I think I just can't love him anymore than I already do. Looks like it just gets better, huh? :)
You can be very proud of him and yourself. There's no doubt in my mind where he's learning empathy and compassion.

It really does get better and better.
Though he's fast reaching the age where he won't let me hug him in public.
But the other day, he thanked me politely for heating up his Spaghettios and told me they looked delicious. :)
And he's getting very scrupulous about asking how my day and his father's day went, or asking us about something we're interested in.
Good thing I can still hug him at home! He's so darned huggable.
