It has an awful title: "The New Rules for Marriage" but is right on the mark. Every single page, so far.
My therapist lent it to me (she hasn't even read it yet, just heard good things from others). I'm quite absorbed in it.sp

Hmmm.. I should get a copy for when the next trough occurs in the wave of our relationship. We're cresting right now.

Ugh. Halfway through it turned into an instructional book on negotiation and manipulation. At least that's how I interpreted it. The process apparently involves getting a couple to sit with this counselor; sticking your partner with a guilt-love-how-can-I-help-you-to-change-your-selfish-behaviour cattle prod, breaking the other person down to the point of teary confessions of committment, and then rebuilding their ruined self esteem so you get what you want.
And it started out so good, too.

Well, you can take the good from the beginning and leave the rest. :) You still are the better for reading it.
This is the end of the thread.
