Just finished "Blue Shoes and Happiness", the latest in the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander MacCall Smith..
Lovely as always.. nice, gentle, un-offensive nd a quick "potato chip" read.
There really is nothing you can say against these books.. (though, I was most unhappy that this latest one came out in hardback 8 months before the paper back for the first time..) And always make great gifts!!

Both my mum and sister also enjoy this series. I think there is great merit in writing books that don't require too much of the reader. I'm happily thumbing through my enormous pile of "previously enjoyed" paperbacks. I boxed them up before my last move, 3 years ago, so they are just getting to the stage of being barely remembered.
My brain is at a potato chip stage of cognitive ability at the moment. Thank heavens for the comics in the daily newspaper.
