Poppy Shakespear

I was given this book for my birthday having read an article on the author in a Saturday Magazine. Clare Allen the author has been a mental health patient for the past 10yrs and this her first novel is about life in a 'day unit' from her experience.
I keep recognising people and laughing out loud however when trying to explain to hubby he doesn't seem to find it as funny, maybe you have to have 'been there' to get it.
It is touching, poiniant, funny a great first novel (I'm not sure if the humour might be a bit English is there such a thing?)

Oh it was a very powerful read about the definition of sanity and perceptions, and it was very sad at the end but in no way sentimental. She obviously spoke from experience. Very good read
