"Small Island" by Andrea Levy.. really fantastically written.. Deserves all the awards it has won here in my opinion!

Oooh - that sounds intriguing. I forget to check the UK listings of award winning books. I've been looking at the best sellers lists here and they are markedly different!

We have a yearly prize over here called the Orange prize.. This book won it quite some time ago, but recently (strangely, two days after I bought it!), it won "Orange of Orange" - the best of all the winners so far.
It really is worth reading.. For me it was very visual it was written so well..
And yeah.. it was a real close up of me too on the screen.. felt so.. invasive..

A very good light reading book for the Christmas season is "A Redbird Christmas" by Fannie Flagg. I highly recommend this book as a relaxing read. It's a real feel good book!
