I just bought "I Had a Black Dog" written and illustrated by "Matthew Johnstone". It might only be 40 odd pages long but it's amazing how accurate 1 or 2 sentences accompanied by an illustration can be.

Hi ClearSkies,
So nice to see you. The book is one of those I just picked up and went "Yup". The illustrations that aren't on the site just continue to explain the feelings and impacts of depression in such an accessible way. I kind of want to carry it around and say to people "This is me, make your choice in full knowledge of the facts."
How have things been going since you finished group? Have you read anything good lately? I'm halfway through "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell", it's boring me stupid and reminds me of Jane Austin - so many words.
Hope you're doing okay dear one.

I'm waiting on an order from Amazon. A mix of fiction and non. I blew through all my reading material while on holiday. Now even the tv guide looks intriguing, as does the bottom of the box of tissues. When ya gotta read...!
ok, book talk out of the way.
I felt like the bottom of my little world fell out when I finished the outpatient programme. All those "I'll call you, we'll get together" platitudes that evaporated like vapour. I felt very alone and left flapping in the breeze. I'm still all over the place, emotion-wise. Trying to give babble a wide berth when I feel vulnerable.
I guess that's why I'm starving for a book right now. It gives me a safe place to get away to when I'm feeling rattled.

Hey,
Let us know any recommendation from your Amazon order. I'm always on the lookout for new reading matter.
Know what you mean about disappearing into books to feel safe. It's one of my main strategies. Sorry things have gone that way, and that you've got the wobbles a bit, it's hard. Know you can always Babblemail or email me any old time if it'll help.
