I'm half way through "We need to talk about Kevin" and needing to share some thoughts..
I've gone all "Lovely Bones" over this.. meaning, I think I'm the only person in the world who didn't adore Lovely Bones.. It gave me the same feeling as this book is so far.. just.. bleurgh.. nothing bad, but just bleurgh..
I think it was true, an autobiography, then I would like it more.. but as it stands, I'm just not loving it like I thought I would.. For some reason I can't connect with Eva, I can't *feel* for her.. I'm finding it a cold book, but not in a good way.
Not sure if any of this makes sense.. But I'd really be interested in other peoples opinions..

Hi Nikki,
Yeah I can't say I enjoyed 'Kevin'. The first 2/3 was really hard going and took me a couple of weeks in fits and starts. If you're not enjoying it now then I'd put it down and leave it as the end is very unpleasant. There is more than what happened at the school.
It came highly recommended to me and though I thought it was well written I just couldn't recommend it having now read it myself. Like you I struggled to 'warm' to any of the characters really though I softened toward Eva the further it went.
I've just started "The Shadow of the Wind" and am enjoying it much more.

I didn't care of Lovely Bones either, so you aren't alone. I feel like that over Secret Life of Bees, not my favorite book.
