I just checked on my order, which included all sorts of books I really want to read like "The Barbary Plague" and "Do Penance or Perish" and "Aberystwyth Mon Amour" and others. The page says that the expected shipping date is something like 27 October!
I guess the delay is a combination of the Free Shipping meaning that they want to ship as many as possible together, the "Aberystwyth Mon Amour" being listed as "4 to 7 weeks" shipping, and all the books my husband has on the order -- things like "Clause and Effect : Prolog Programming for the Working Programmer" and "Higher-Order Perl: Transforming Programs with Programs." (Who'd want to read those, anyway?)
All this means that everyone has to be awfully nice to me for a while, since I'll be cold and lonely until my new friends-to-be arrive. After that, of course, you can abuse me as you will...
