When I was doing therapy one of my favourite books was "Autism and Chidhood Psychosis. Tustin, Frances"

Beautifully written, apart from anything else.

I remember:
'In order to achieve this the heartbreak which is at the centre of the human condition must be experienced over and over again in circles of ever widening maturity'.

Interesting. What "heartbreak" does it refer to, and what does it achieve?

Human condition heartbreak. But she was dealing with that object relations stuff, Margaret Mahler and Melanie Klein. What does it achieve? Maturity I guess. High tolerance to pain or I dunno what needed to survive in this world. The double double quotes thing didn't work.

The problem was the typo. :-)
