Now, I do love the Ballad Novels best, for obvious reasons, but have you read "B*mbos of the Death Sun?" That was the first I read -- do admit, you wouldn't be able to pass by that title, either. Her short stories are good, too: "Foggy Mountain Breakdown"
I haven't read "The DaVinci Code", but did read "Angels and Demons." I wasn't impressed enough to bother with anything else -- stretched the imagination too much that ANY professor in ANY accredited university wouldn't have heard of CERN.
Thanks for the list!

> Thanks for the list!Racer- Hello there!
I have read "The Rosewood Casket" and "The Ballad of Frankie Silver" and "SHe Walks these Hills" and one other one; the name escapes me now- "The Songcatcher". It features a country singer as the central character. I also read "Foggy Mountain Breakdown". I really like McCrumb's writing style- an easy, entertaining read. I HAVE NOT read "B*mbos of the Death Sun." Will have to get it at the library and check it out! Thanks!
I read the Da Vinci Code first. It does stretch the imagination in places but I thought Brown's style was easy to read, and those short, cliffhanging chapters had me riveted!! I loved both of them.
Was it you who posted about Cornwell above? I have only read "The Body Farm" and enjoyed it, partly because I used to work 5 minutes from the real body farm. And I generally enjoy whodunnits, forensic science tales (I have read several of these, written by the scientists) and ghosty-stories.
I also recently read a book of short stories by George Plimpton, "THe Man in the Flying Lawn CHair", and it was good, too.
THanks, Racer!!
Have a great day!
