This is one of the things that irritates me beyond my ability to express:
I find Patricia Cornwell to be a really terrible writer -- but her stories are so dang good that I can't put them down, and pretty much have to read them straight through! I hate that!
Yesterday, I spent most of the afternoon reading the last 200 pages of "Trace" -- because, although it was badly written, it was a great story that I really *had* to finish. Right then and there.
Any other opinions about her books? I think I've read most of them...

Ive read some of them. I quite liked them. But then I don't read many novels... I wasn't impressed with one of them. Didn't have Scarpetta in it.
Why do you think she is a terrible writer???

I have felt that way about several of her books. Thought that she felt pressure from the Billy Graham Household, then I negated that feeling, then counted it in again. I mean, they raised her for years!
Thought then that she was a John Irving, with only one story to be told, but it would take 8 or 9 novels to get it done amazed even me!
And now I find I take each book as it comes: underdone, overdone, shouldnabeendone... I don't think I waste very much time.
This is the end of the thread.
