I just picked up "Brimstone" -- another of the books by Preston and Child about FBI spooky Pendergast. So far, it's a sort of a creepy cross between, say, Peter Straub's "Shadowlands" and Douglas Adams' "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency."
Only weirder.
Anyone else enjoy that sort of thing?

I bet I'd love it. I really like Peter Straub's writing (it's a bit thin on the ground, I wish he had more books out there). Groan! Like I *need* another book to read... of course, I do!

Well, I love Dirk Gently.. so I guess I'll like this!!
If you like "wierd" theres a series going on (up to number 3 so far) that I love, but, are a little wierd.
Nior detective, but.. wierd *L* Set in Wales (I think its modern day, but Julian thinks its set in '50s) The first is "Last Tango in Aberystwyth " and then "Aberystwyth Mon Amour" and finally "The Unbearable Lightness of Being in Aberystwyth"
They're great.. maybe a bit "British" though!!

Thanks for the recommendation -- they're going on my wish list right this minute!
