I blame Nikki and Partly Cloudy!

Posted by Racer on June 21, 2005, at 21:57:05

And I'll be on your doorsteps to take it out on you if it doesn't work out! (OK, so I'm only threatening that because I think there are two hugs I'm neglecting, but pretend that you're scared, OK? Otherwise I'll be disappointed.)

Today, at Costco -- and don't think it don't bug me to buy half my books at a warehouse store! -- I picked up two books, all because Nikki and PC mentioned them: "The Secret Life of Bees" and "Brimstone." "Brimstone" because I have liked their other books well enough, and Bees because the two of them -- evil, since I have so many other books stacking up -- were discussing it on Social.

I'll let you know how it goes, and whether you two should be shaking with fear. (Pretend, 'K?)

Actually it not my fault at all...

Cos I checked back trough my little "reading list" book, and it was PC that reccomended "The Secret Life of Bee's" to me.. so its ALL pc's fault *nods vigorously*

Tis a lovely book though.. and a nice quick read!

Last night, I got into my bed, applied the vibrating cat to the appropriate area, and picked up The Book to finish the chapter I was reading.

And then proceeded to read an additional chapter.

Therefore, since I'm cranky this morning, I can only say that it's Your Fault!

(Yes, it is a charming little book. Thank you for the recommendation.)

" applied the vibrating cat to the appropriate area"

Please, please put that into some context!!!

Cos, well, I wouldn't be able to read with where my mind has gone *giggles*

But...

OK, I'm confused.. a vibrating cat is obviously not some "massage device"...

So what is it???

The most satisfying vibration on the planet is bringing a cat pleasure, didn't you you know?

OH MY!!!

I had no idea that Nikki was so innocent!

When cats purr, their whole bodies vibrate. My Little Cat goes to bed before I do, then waits until I get into bed when she climbs onto my chest and starts purring -- and trying to get under or over my book so that she can lick my nose. I have to pet her to keep her from interfering with my reading. That's all I meant! Nothing naughty.

I guess we better email you a cat, so you can try it out. It's one of the better feelings in the world.

In fact, for a long time, when I had trouble sleeping, my Big Cat would come and snuggle up to me, then purr very loudly until I went to sleep. If I woke in the middle of the night, he'd give this huge sigh, then come snuggle up again to purr me back to sleep. Better than any other sleep aid I've ever tried.

Makes me very sad that he's getting old and has so much trouble getting up on the bed now. I keep putting boxes near the bed, but he can't figure those out. I'm thinking I have to build a set of steps for him...

*laughing madly*

OK, please take into account that I have never lived with a cat in my life *L* Though I am starting to get tempted *L*

I even read the post to J to see if he could read something in it that I was missing.. and his comment was "Maybe they do cats aswell and rabbits now" *LOL* We are perfectly matched it seems!

Don't feel bad, I thought the same thing. And I have three cats that do sleep on my bed.

But I'm going to plead work insanity on this one because we have all sorts of animal vibrators to use on the arms of kids with sensory integration issues. (You have no idea how carefully I typed that sentence.)

Bees (the book) made me sad. I think I'm one of the few people who didn't really like it. I think I need to reread it.

Stay calm, everyone!

I sent Nikki a picture so that she can get a better idea of what is involved in that cat thing. She'll be OK as soon as she sees the cats -- although she'll be very disappointed when she tries to find one as cute as my VibroKitty...

I finished Bees last night, and can say that I enjoyed it a great deal. Now, being from my background, with both parents living in Civil Rights Hotspots -- Mother in Greensboro, NC during the lunch counter sit ins, father in Montgomery during the boycotts, where he told me he saw someone cut in half by the firehoses -- I can't say that I found it entirely believeable, but I can say that I enjoyed it a great deal.

And I thank both PC and Nikki for bringing it to my attention...

Now to get my hands on "The Queen Must Die" -- which I kinda wanted before, but really want now!!!
