Anyone done a prrof reading course?

Someone, ages ago, mentioned to me they had done a proof reading course, and would use their commuting time to earn some extra cash doing it..

Anyone else done any proof reading? Is it something I could do reading about 500 pages a week? Sitting on the bus and the like? Or maybe two books a month?

I just wonder what it does pay? Extra cash would be very very useful at the moment!
