Anyone else see the movie "Sin City"?
I had no idea what the movie was about going into it...my sister just told me that it was a very good movie. I hadn't seen any clips or trailers for it, so I had absolutely *no* idea what I was getting into.I didn't think anything could still shock me, but this movie did! It's certainly rated 18 for a good reason...maybe it should be 21 lol.
Extremely violent...anything violent you can think of is in this movie. I can't mention the details without putting up trigger warnings. My dark thoughts are nothing compared to what this movie showed!
It was a good movie though...hope it doesn't give me nightmares!
I must admit...it was pretty creepy waiting for the bus all by myself at night...raining too.
I wasn't sure it this belonged to the "Books" board or not...I figured it should start here at "Social" to get a discussion going that can then be re-directed to "books"?
Is there a Sin City book? or comic book or something?

the Sin City comic books are awesome.. Frank Miller (who wrote them) is a true genius, I swear..
I'm in UK so it doesn't come out here for another 10 days.. BUT.. this is sooo cool.. I've won tickets for aprivate viewing of it, with Frank Miller, at a very small, VERY luxurious screening room at a very posh hotel near me.. This si for Thursday night and I can't wait!!
Like I say, the comics are awesome.. The film covers 3 of the books but I forget which ones off the top of my head!

Yes, I agree...it is brillant
The degree of the violence shocked me...
Actually, most of the violence takes places in our minds...which is even more horrific to me
Amazing movie though.
After the movie, I was riding the bus at night all by myself and I heard police sirens coming closer and closer...I liked how it gave me goosebumps!Any other movies or books of this genre that I should see or read?

I think this movie stands on it's own....
it's a one of a kind.
I did like Kung Fu Hustle...
that's violent as well but wicked clever and funny.
it's almost like a cartoon too.
