I urge you all to read it.. "Jonathan Livingston Seagull".. its so lovely! I read it on the bus on the way to work, so its really short.. but about a seagull (Jonathan Livingstone) who.. well.. its allabout thinking outside of the box.. about striving for what you want to do and not what the "flock" want you to do..

when I was in 6th grade we rewrote JLS into a play. It was great fun to produce. AND I've seen Neil Diamond's rendition of the song based on the book.
I'd forgotten about it.

When I was a child we used to have a painted wooden seagull we called "Jonathon Livingston". I wonder what ever happened to that? It was years later before I ever read the book. It's marvelous! Before that, I always wondered why we named the statue. :)

I read that a long time ago. Didn't appreciate it much then, but I found a nice copy at a used book sale a month or so ago and I read it with my son. He was fascinated with it. He's such a great little guy. Loves myths and legends and lore and stuff.
