I hope Dr. Bob doesn't delete my prescription because I honestly think it may help with depression (even if it's temporary)..
But for mild to moderate depression..
Go to the local video store... rent " Napoleon Dynamite."
Bring it home, pop some pop corn, have a coke and some chocolate covered raisins.
Put the movie in.. press play.. and LAUGH, and LAUGH, and LAUGH some more.
Then once it's over.. sit back and think, " wow, I actually feel kind of better."When I was in the hospital, I actually had my dh bring it up to the floor so everyone there could watch it.
Some of these people had never left their rooms they were so depressed. They came out, watched the movie, and I had never seen them laugh harder or louder any other time while I was there.
Comedy is good medicine.

The prescription may be modified as follows:
Film: Bubba Ho-tep
Plot Outline: "Elvis and JFK, both alive and in nursing homes, fight for the souls of their fellow residents as they battle an ancient Egyptian Mummy"From http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281686/
Highly entertaining.

I took it back to Alabama with me (my father is dying). My father watched it three times. He laughed so hard that he choked and had to remove his oxygen.
He then told his hospice nurse, " Write this down in your charts.. 'every dying person should watch this movie on their deathbed."
He got a kick out of it-- but then again, his oxygen is about 80%.

Thank you for the rx. I laughed and laughed. Yes, everyone must see this movie. You don't need to be depressed or in hospice to enjoy it. :-)
