My book club choice for November

is "Snake Hips", about - what else - belly dance. I couldn't make the group go through a Sylvia Plath book after Virginia Woolf, and I get a better menu to choose from this way.

Yup, almost done. It's a quick read. It parallels a lot of my experiences, and the author's tongue is sharp and funny. It came out in 2002, and paperback this year. I'm going to do a show and tell with some of my costumes when I host the book club meeting to discuss the book.

and on the side I have been reading James Tate's poetry. my god that man is droll and quirky...
