OK, so it wasn't toooo mad.. just for 15 minutes I thought it pretty impressive!! theres a HUGE borders just near my office.. its bad bad bad!!
Anyway, I;d gone there to buy "Something Rotten" by Jasper Fforde which I think I've probably talked about enough *L*
"A Son of the circus" bu JOhn Irving.. I adore his books and am slowly working my way through them!!
"Aberystwyth Mon Amour" and "Last Tango in Aberystwyth" by Malcolm Pryce.. Reccomended by someone on the Jasper Fforde fforums.. Will let you know what they're like
And then.. on my way out, I spotted the most gorgeous little edition of "little Women" and had to buy it.. can you believe I never have??! Well, now I will!!
So thats this months reading sorted!!!

When I worked in Manchester I was able to go to book readings and signings at Waterstones. Such an intimate setting and so wonderful to hear authors read their works in their own voice. The US is too big to allow me to travel to be able to catch all the ones I want to meet now, and I live in too much of a backwater to have mant notable authors come through. I have eased up on my book buying in the past few years after a massive purge. Unfortunately I took all the books to a reseller and he spent 2 hours asking me about each individual book before accepting or declining to take it. It was terrible - like giving something up for adoption!!!
I try to buy books used (Amazon has a great selection, of course) and that helps to ease my conscience soewhat.
2 weeks less 1 day to England....

I should more buy used books.. but theres something about opening a brand new book for the first time that I love!!!
But I did find a great used book store yesterday on Portobello Road - and I go there regularly on saturdays.. annoyingly it had just closed when I discovered it *lol*
And YAY re; 2 weeks 1 day!!!!!!! I'm so excited about meeting up with you!! Unfortunately my husband can't make it *pouts* But I'm sure your husband won't mind being seen out with two kick a** women!!! *G*
