"Something Rotten" by Jasper Fforde, the 4th book in the Thursday Next series came out on monday. I wasn't meant to buy it until tonight, but I broke down on Tuesday and bought it..
But tonight I went to a signing, reading and q&a session with Jasper Fforde.. it was AWESOME.. fantastic fun. He is a really funny guy, and I laughed an awful lot!!! He was also lovely for the signing and took time out to chat with each of us.
I love him!!! *laughing*

1. You're married. You can only love him from afar...
2. You're just now figuring out he's funny??? (Sorry, you know I can't resist teasing you -- and that I only tease people I like, right?)
My face is so green right now, with an overflow of envy for you! I can't afford to get book 3, so I'm rationing myself -- I'll read book 2 after finishing the book mentioned above and one more, so that I can stretch things out until #3 comes out in paperback. Nunberg's book is so good it doesn't bother me, but the Lakoff book is a bit intimidating... Still, at least I have incentive to finish it quickly!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Miss Prince. Did he like your bracelets?

Well, obviously I knew he was a great writer, but that doesn't always carry over into the person.. but he's a genuinely funny guy, and so nice!
And was wearing a "What would Hamlet say" tshirt that made me laugh *L* ("What would Jesus Say" is a big thing in certain circles over here!)Do you have a nice fast internet connection?? Cos I have an 8.4Mb mpeg of him reading a small part of "Something Rotten" (no spoilers, just one of teh chapter heading bits).. plus a few photos of him during the whole thing.. Oh, and the good old one of me with him *L* (Though I got so excited I forgot to look at the camera *l*)
I am LOVING Something Rotten though.. oh.. its been so long since I was that desperate to find time to read a book.. *l* All my other new books are in my desk at work though, so trying not to finish it before monday morning *L*
Ah.. must do a "oh, naught me went book shopping again" thread *l* Couldn't afford it, but me and book shops are BAD news!!
I'm so pleased you're enjoying them though!! *g* And just think of them as something to look forward to!!
Nikki x
