I'm not a big Sci Fi reader, and not really into fantasy either.. but I like the odd book here and there ("Lord of the Rings" ofcourse, "His Dark Materials" is amazing but whether that is fantasy or not is a huge debate, and I also totally adore "Snow Crash" which is real cyber punk.. but I hated "Neuromancer".. so its very much hit and miss whether I will like a Sci Fi Book!!)
Anyway, a while ago on here someone mentioned that "Dune" by Frank Herbert was really good (the original book), so I added it to my book list, and its getting kinda short now so I bought Dune.. and WOW! I'm totally loving it and finding loads of sneaky opportunities to go off and read bits of it!! Not sure I will continue with the sequels as they're not meant to be as good, but by the time I finish it, I mght be desperate for more (I'm just over halfway!)
Oh, and when I bought that I also bought "A Wild Sheep Chase" by Haruki Murakami as I've enjoyed the other 4 books of his I've read, so slowly working my way through the rest of his!
Wednesday is payday (YAY) so I get to go buy more books for next month *grins* can't wait!!
In my home town is this amazing second hand book store called "The Treasure Chest".. It opened when I was about 7 years old, and every saturday I was allowed to go and buy a book there when dad took me to get the bread from the bakers.. Well, its moved to bigger premises and my brother is always telling me how amaizng it is.. he did some work on our computer so I went in and bought him a credit token to buy himself some books and I have fallen in lovbe with the place.. its all little alcoves and hidden areas with thousands and thousands of books.. so next time we visit I am making sure we have atleast an hour to spend in there *grins* I gave my brother a £15 credit, and he managed to buy 8 books with it!!! WOW!
So, thats my book ramble for the day!!
