HOW horrible? I might not be in your range but I do read them.....I also like true crime. My daughters and I got going on that during the Ted Bundy days!

I like true crime too! Any to suggest?

(As far as horror stories, I like both old:Richard Matheson, as well as the likes of Stephen King, Bentley Little...)

I like Peter Straub and Dean Koontz too. Steven King is my favourite but it's like eating potato chips to read his stuff.

Who are you referring to when you say its like eating potato chips? Stephen King?

Respectfully disagreeing.....:) Unless you think eating potato chips is tremendously exciting and inspiring...(haha)

Never got into Koontz, but I'd like to try out some of Peter Straub's work.

What other books do you like? I've read a lot of a newer horror writer, Bentley Little. Not bad, I enjoy a lot of it, but I miss the emotion and depth King has.

Potato chips: there are never enough of them. I devour SK books. Haven't read much new horror. I was in a book club for a year before my panic attacks chased me out and the group got me reading bestsellers instead. Basically, I read anything with print on it: kleenex boxes, soda cans, bus schedules... riveting stuff.

> I read one of the first Koontz books.....it was about some people who had been exposed to radiation and the powers above them were trying to find them to kill them........it was an across country cat and mouse game and I was SO scared that I stayed up all night with all the lights on in the house! I loaned it to friends and they all had the same reaction. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of it but it was when he first came upon the scene. I've never read Stephen King.

For true crime, all of Ann Rule's books are good except the short story ones. I've read all of the books about Ted Bundy. Basically, I'm a true crime slut and will read any of them. I also read cereal boxes and am addicted to newsprint.......and the news can be pretty horrible these days.........
