I've been shopping!!!

Posted by NikkiT2 on January 9, 2004, at 9:45:03

My in laws gave me some book tokens for christmas, so I've been shopping with them!! yay!!!

Firstly, I was desperate for a book on 2nd Jan, and popped into a supermarket near my mums desperate to buy anything to pass the train journey home.. I knew "To Kill A Mockingbird" was meant to be good, so bought that.. WOW.. I've loved it.. totally loved it. I finished it on the way to the book shop and was so sad to leave Atticus, Scout and Jem.. I adored the prose style, and it was so real for me.

So.. my shopping!!

After so many reccomendations here, I bought "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole

After reccomendations at another site I use, I also bought "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant

And I had to have another John Irving as I'm enjoying his books so much at the moment, so I bought "The Hotel New Hampshire" as that looked funny!

And finally, I needed a kids book to round it off, so bought "The Tin Princess" by Phillip Pullman - its the 4th in the Sally Lockhart series.. doesn't look as good as the other three, but maybe I'll like it!!

So thats today!! I'm thinking of starting a blog detailing my reading exploits.. But maybe PB Books is all the blog I need!!

Nikki xx

I was soooo hoping someone would give me a gift card for a bookstore, but, alas, no books this year. Guess I'll have to keep frequenting the library.

Enjoy your reading!
