I'm sorry that I seemed to jump ahead of the other suggestions. I thought I had read that Sept. was to be children's lit. Since the Alex books are rather short and didn't appear to be embraced by all, I thought I would offer "Good Night, Mr. Tom" to be included as a supplementery reading in the month's read.
Being the anxious sort that I am AND inclined to wait 'til the last moment to do anything, I watched a very quiet board for a very long time (IMO)without any one talking about the September book(s). Now it is Sept 10 and we still don't know and my "anxiety is rising" (along with my temperature since we're in the throes of bigtime heatwave for shcools without AC).
I sort of thought that October was already selected??
At any rate, I don't think I will be voting on Yahoo so I'll just watch to see what is decided.
OR: I don't think that you were saying that you felt usurped but just surprised by the direction change. lf I'm wrong about that, I am sorry. It was not my intent to ignore anyone's ideas or previously decided selections. Just anxiety.
I will read just about anything, not always enjoying it, but at least exposing myself to it. So whatever is chosen, great, it's just that I DON'T have much time left in this month to PROCRASTINATE :(.MA

> I was just confused about the selection process-nothing personal. Sorry if I inconvenienced people. I'll read almost anything too.
