I would read this too, perhaps I have in the past, but I certainly dont remember it. It certainly will be available and cheap.
Looking forward, to the next book, in August, I would recommend Silk. It was short (100+) and very poignent.

That sounds like a good idea mouse although 3 might be a few too few for this crew. I also think once the list has been narrowed down, we should post a message to all sites to see if others want to express a preference. I'm sure Dr. Bob wouldn't mind a simple plug to the other sites. I really enjoyed the discussions that you and Mitch and I had about Owen Meany, but it would probably be good to widen the circle.

Was just an idea, perhaps a way to spread out the responsibilities for the ideas for what books to consider each month without having to consider them ALL at one time:) so, the number, three, four, five, six, ten...but some number less than say, ten, would be workable, don't you think? We donot have a shortage of good books to read, that is certain. I think this board is a great idea, and, obviously, I enjoy it a lot and think Everybody (nudge nudge) is doing a great job.
and yes, I hope we can promote it somehow within the Pb community...yeh! maybe a POP UP """"flashing"""" ad???:P

You are correct, and I'm getting ready to work on that today/tonight :-)
I have a ton of things to do, and little time lately to get it completed. The rotating leader thing has been brought up several times (I believe) and Dr. Bob didn't like the idea....more consistency (sp?) or whatever.....

A person could pick a month to suggest a list of books to vote on...this is what I meant. I still think there needs to be one person to lead the group, you, ...the idea was more that a person could say, I will take October, and have a list of, say, 5 titles to vote on....

I vote for The Sun Also Rises if we can make a decision quickly. I hated this book 20 years ago. I wonder whether I've mellowed or become less tolerant when it comes to Hemingway.
If we select this book right now we will be able to take our time with the next book.

How strongly do you want to read this particular book? If you do I'll go along with a later date but if you really don't care and were only going to read it out of obligation maybe we could arrange a fill in for you. This way we'd have a book to read while we argue about the next one and you'd get to take a (short) break. Face it. Now that you're a grandma you have to start taking it easy. ;) (don't hurt me, please)Besides, even leaders get to take summer vacation.

I felt entitled to express an opinion because I have resolved that not only will I reread the book but I will find things to say about it in the discussion.*** However, taking my track record on this into account, I wouldn't place any large bets on this (or count my opinion overly much in setting a schedule).
