A Confederacy of Dunces: strange and wonderful

Posted by Ella on February 8, 2002, at 12:25:24

A friend of mine gave me a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces this summer and it was just great. It is so strange how everything works out in the end just when it looked like everything was going to crash down in a clattering implosion.

Who wrote the book? Several people have said they like it, so maybe it's something to put on our agenda?

I think something to be careful about is posting about the plots of books...

John Kennedy Toole wrote A Confederacy of Dunces.
He only wrote one book and it was published due to his mother's (I think) efforts after his death.

P.S I'll be more carful about disclosing the plot in further posts.

Ella,

He also wrote another book, The Neon Bible, also published posthumously. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Confederacy of Dunces, but if you're a fan you might want to check it out.
