I must admit that I am a little *speechless* after reading it. There are a lot of ideas I scribbled down. There were some above that I talked about by mistake because I didn't start a separate "finished thread" (sorry). I am now really spaced-out by the book, but in a calm way; I feel it was therapeutic to read this. Nikky is right-the story *does* really intensify in complexity. I am glad I didn't see the movie "Simon Burch". I am afraid it probably would have spoiled the book. I don't think I want to see the movie, after this. It was great of the author to do the funeral first and then flip to the incident at the end. They all talked about everyone missing Owen at the funeral and I did too. It was great to "hear" him again at the end of the book. Strangely, the "voice" in my head (of Owen's voice-while I read) was very different after the funeral at the end. I don't know why that is.
