I picked up some novels all by same author, at the library yesterday, arranged them in chronological order, and have been very disappointed with the first one i read:by some one named Mary McMullen...set in the 1970's, oh groan...oh well, my usual screen technique of reading a couple of paragraphs in the middle of the book, did not work, I will trudge on and let you know if she gets any better. She is a Crime Book Selection, whatever that means.
I will see what special romance novels my friend recommended, they were great, set in historical fiction....nice escape. I remember when i used to work in a book store and how English Majors would guiltily haunt the romance shelves. I think candy books are good for the soul, and reading skills. Also, I think it is hard to write a really simple, good book.
Like poetry, eh, Kid a?

Hiya Susie-
Ok, you have to clue me in,,,,why the pencil? I assume you'll be getting paper too? :-) I know, I'm ornery, but somebody has to do it and what better person than me? hehe. Seriously though, did an Author, type of book, etc., spark something? Please elaborate, I'm feeling the need for something new...
I'm also lost on the 'candy books' comment. Quote "I think candy books are good for the soul, and reading skills." Unquote. What is a candy book? I'm really clueless today or something..

Oh AW right, yes, paper too...just excited to have some titles and know people who have read them. And Candy Books, those are what I call anything, a serious person, like a mother, might consider too light weight, not appropriate 'reading' material. But in fact, that light, fluffy, simple stuff is english and is wonderful to read for kids and adults. It is quick, you get a sense of accomplishment and, if it is VERY successful, someday, you might see it on the big screen, like spiderman:)
