I have just finished reading this book. This book was written to help the reader develop a comprehensive understanding of the major psychiatric diagnoses and their treatment-Quote
It easy to read and it cover all the major psychotropic drugs that are commonly used for various conditions i.e. For OCD it looks at Anafranil, Luvox, Prozac, for panic disorder it looks at Nardil and Klonopin and Xanax. In addition to this there are really only case studies. Quite a good list of recommended reading. Essential Pharmacology is much better I think for an understanding of psychotropic drugs used for various conditions because Stahl really takes on the complex subject the variety of psychotropic drugs and the interaction with the CNS and presents the information in a way it is easy for the reader to understand. The Psychopharmacogy Sourcebook book remains in very simple psychopharmacology territory. Not to put it down. That was the intention(above quote) Maybe a good one for beginners???
