halo people,
I have been reading this board for more then 10 years. This is my first post. I have had anxiety and depression from i gues my 14 (now35). I took lexapro for 10 years and it the first 2 years it worked very good. Then it stopped working but i kept teaking it because didn't want to go through withdrawal and i didn't want to lose my job. 2 years ago i took a scoop of magnesium citrate and 2 hours later i felt another person(previous pils magnesium+ calcium did'nt work) : almost no more depressed, no anxiety, no extreme tiredness, no light sensitivity, no more extreme diziness.(i also became better previous with B12) I thought i was cured. After a few months i reduced my dose of lexapro and a half year ago i stopped taking lexapro. I was fine for another 3months and then i became depressed again. I then thought the magnesium didn't cure me. After 3 month's of depression i started to take back low dose of lexapro. And after 5 days of 2.5mg (very low dose) de depression started to lift. I think i can't be that the lexapro is working again so fast so i guess after half a year i still have protracted withdrawel from lexapro. The MD say magnesium can not cure depression and anxiety. But i came across a 10 posts on the internet (also on this site miraculous magnesium)from people who claim who have been cured by magnesium. i don't know anymore. But my brain needs low dose of lexapro (i hate it) What do you people think. (sorry for my english)
take care

Magnesium is a very important mineral. Up to half of Americans are deficient in it. A new form of magnesium, magnesium-L-threonate, became available about two years ago. It's far more absorbable than other forms of magnesium, even intravenous magnesium. Here's an article about it:
Another interesting article about magnesium:

Just a note. For some to benefit from magnesium they may need it in a form more bioavailable to the brain, e.g. magnesium threonate.
This is the end of the thread.
